5 tips to getting back on track.

Like most holidays, the 4th of July is filled with food, fun, sun, and drinking. That can take a lot out of you. And let’s face it, getting to the gym or getting a workout in doesn’t always happen when your busy with family.

I’m a full believer in enjoying the holidays and taking some rest time. I was able to get in a stair run and a run, but enjoyed family time the best I could.

5 tips to getting back on track.

  1. Start your day with a warm lemon water. Lemon water helps rev up your metabolism, and helps digestion

  2. Plan your meals. This is always the hardest, I tend to go with lighter meals, lots of fruit and veggies.

  3. Hit the gym. Go for a walk or run. Jumping back into the gym is hard, take it slow at first. Don’t expect to not struggle a little on those last few reps. Remember you took some time off.

  4. Get some sleep. Usually over holidays bedtimes are later and wake up times seem to be earlier. So, get some rest to really recharge and get back into the swing

  5. Water. Drink your water. As busy as you’ve been drinking water probably wasn’t at the top of your list. Drink up buttercup.

Getting back on track is hard, but if you notice your pants are a little snug today, take some time to mentally get back on track then everything will fall into place.
